Advanced DSO Scanner Class
Technicians should have good command of fuel control, oxygen sensors and air fuel ratio sensor operations along with the ability to understand electrical schematics. This is primarily a “hands on” lab based instructional class.
This “Strategy Based” diagnostics course is designed using a completely different approach to instruction. The emphasis of this course is to develop critical thinking skills that will assist technicians in reaching their next level of comprehension and understanding. This course shows the best PID’s, Controls, and other Scan Tool functions to use for each diagnosis. We have reinvented Scan Tool training because button-pushing and menu navigation doesn’t make you successful. Rather, success comes when you know your Scan Tool so well that you can set the flowchart aside and ‘make up’ your own Strategy Based Diagnostic Path. Since Engineers cannot write for every single possible fault, this path is more accurate and quite a bit shorter than the flowchart. There are dozens of examples of this strategy in action, diagnosing the most common faults: C.A.N. Wave Patterns, Good Signals, Bad Signals, Fuel Trim Codes, EVAP Leaks, O2 and Air/Fuel Sensor Codes, Misfire Code Isolation Techniques, EGR functional, Fault Codes, Body & Chassis Codes, Scan Tool “No-Communication” faults, and other functional failure codes.
